What is the Visa Waiver Program, and how does it work?
A travel authorization application requires fewer formalities than the US visa process. The Visa Waiver Program allows travelers to enter the United States for up to 90 days. You may need to show proof of a return ticket or sufficient funds when you enter the United States. Once you have submitted your ESTA application, we will send you an email with your travel authorization. Keep a record of the ESTA Application number. Important Tips
- Once you have successfully applied for an ESTA, your eligibility to travel to the US under the visa waiver program is determined. Keep track of your Application Number.
- The ESTA Application number is typically 14 characters long and consists of a mixture of numbers and letters.

- Your Travel Authorization should be applied for at least 72 hours before departure. Using as soon as possible is recommended if you intend to travel to the United States in the next 3-6 months
What is the average length of an approved ESTA request?
An ESTA-approved application is valid for two years. The validity period for ESTA applications is two years. Travelers may enter the United States no more than two times in these two years. They can stay up to 90 days. Travelers who intend to stay for longer than 90 days in the United States will need a B-2 Tourist Visa or a standard US Visa. If the traveler plans to study or work in the United States, a Work Visa or Student Visa will be required. Approving an ESTA application doesn’t guarantee that the traveler can enter the United States. Whether the traveler can enter the country rests with the border control officers. They will check documents and ask questions to verify that the information is authentic and reliable.
What is the ESTA requirement for your country?

Is an ESTA the same as a visa?
An ESTA authorization is not a visa; it is only preclearance to travel under the Visa Waiver program, which allows travelers to bypass the visa process. An ESTA authorization is not equivalent to a United States visa and cannot be used as such when a travel visa is required. If you possess a valid passport for travel to the United States, then a travel authorization through ESTA is not required: you can travel legally to and from the United States on that visa.
How long is my ESTA authorization valid?
An ESTA authorization is valid until the earliest of these dates: 1) your passport expiration date or 2) two years after your travel authorization approval. An ESTA authorization can be revoked, however, in which case it immediately becomes invalid.
